Jackfruit started in 2005 as a research and design organisation for the arts as well as specialised design projects for the retail, hospitality and travel industries. Our focus has been to work with private and public organisations, individuals, galleries and museums. Jackfruit has curated exhibitions, worked on digital galleries and educational websites, illustrated and written travel books for NGOs in rural India, conducted lecture tours and designed spaces and various publications. Today, the company curates a boutique – Jackfruit on the Ganga – which resides on three cruise ships that sail on the Ganga. The boutique continues Jackfruit’s enduring commitment to the India’s craft and handloom arts by showcasing products from across India made by artisans or NGOs who work with them.
Jackfruit’s team includes Annapurna Garimella, an art historian and designer based in Delhi, Sindhura D. M., an art historian and design curator and Rajarshi Dutta, a designer with a background in History and publishing with a rich portfolio of work for various industries.
